EJA Gets Major Grant from Cameron Foundation The Cameron Foundation has awarded a $36,000 grant to Equal Justice America in support of our Virginians for Equal Justice campaign. The Cameron Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established to promote and assist programs and activities that benefit the residents of Petersburg, VA and the surrounding area. The grant provides $20,000 to pay half of a year’s full-time post-graduate EJA Fellowship for a young attorney working at the Legal Aid Justice Center in Petersburg. Geraldine Doetzer, William and Mary Law, Class of 2008, has been awarded a two-year EJA Fellowship at the LAJC. She starts work there in September. The $16,000 balance of the Cameron Foundation grant has funded four law student summer fellowships at the LAJC. Danielle Lacoe, from the University of Richmond and Michelle Scott, from the University of Virginia were the Summer 2007 EJA Fellows who received the Cameron funds. This year’s recipients are Amanda Lavin, from the University of Richmond and Andrew Hanlin from William and Mary. Equal Justice America is very grateful to the Cameron Foundation for their generous support.
