Mabie Family Foundation Provides Major Grant to EJA

For the seventh straight year, the Mabie Family Foundation has provided support to Equal Justice America.   This year, the Mabie Foundation provided $16,000 to Equal Justice America.  The Mabie Foundation grant funded three Summer 2009 EJA Fellowships.

  • Misha Seay, UC Hastings, worked at the East Bay Community Law Center in Berkeley, CA.
  • Crystal Becerra, Santa Clara, worked at Bay Area Legal Aid in Oakland, CA
  • Seshah Wolde-Tsadik, Santa Clara, worked at Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles.

Four thousand dollars of the Mabie grant was used to help EJA provide funding for 10 Harvard law students who worked during Summer 2009 on behalf of the poor.

The Mabie Family Foundation, directed by attorney Ron Malone of Shartsis Friese LLP in San Francisco, is dedicated to providing philanthropic support to worthy causes, principally in the areas of education and medicine. The Foundation was founded by William and Inez Mabie during their lifetimes to facilitate their charitable giving.

Equal Justice America is very grateful to Ron Malone and the Mabie Family Foundation for their generous support.
